WOW they're so CLOSE! You could practically reach out and touch them! In that second video one of them came right out of the water--amazing! What fun it must have been!
I think that's my best paddling experience so far, although paddling with the seals the other week is a close second. This time there were three of us, so HL was able to video them while I paddled.
They were definitely interested in us, because we spotted them first quite a way away and they quickly came over and then swam around us.
It was an incredible experience. Once you've seen them in the wild, you realise how wrong it seems to keep them in confinement. They move so fast and can cover big distances in a flash. We were lucky they decided to check us out, as we would never have got close to them otherwise.
